Sarah Connor Bookless studied Fine Art [Drawing and Painting] at the Glasgow School of Art.
Ever since I can remember I have always loved colour. I have always admired the beautiful carpets of colour made by the daffodils, bluebells, tulips and forget-me-nots...On warm sunny Spring mornings I love to see the blossoming of the Apple and Cherry
Blossom trees and all creation coming to life again...
Meditation of poetry, music and scriptures are very much an integral part of my artwork ...the words from a poem by William
Blake encapsulates my main aim
“To see a world in a grain of sand...
and a Heaven in a Wild Flower...
Hold Infinity in the palm of your Hand and
Eternity in an Hour.”
As a Pilgrim Artist I discover precious cameos of life on “The Way” the pearls of insight, perception and wisdom.
I love the Celtic Spirituality and Vision where the people come out in the morning and pray a short prayer called “Ceum na Corach” asking God to show them the “Path of Right” for the day...and praying that God would bless the all their work...their fishing, cattle and sheep.
My painting Bridget’s Blessing is really all about this...the rekindling by the Power of the Holy Spirit...the ancient Celtic Vision and values of bringing God back into everyday life.
MAY BRIGID BLESS THE HOUSE WHEREIN YOU DWELL
BLESS EVERY FIRESIDE EVERY WALL AND DOOR
BLESS EVERY HEART THAT BEATS BENEATH ITS ROOF
BLESS EVERY HAND THAT TOILS TO BRING IT JOY
BLESS EVERY FOOT THAT WALKS ITS PORTAL THROUGH
MAY BRIGID BLESS THE HOUSE THAT SHELTERS YOU
